Scandic Neptun

Very comfortable hotel (I selected a roomier room when booking as I've found out in the past that regular rooms in Norway can be on the small side), and super helpful staff. I didn't need much, but the little I asked, they were keen and solved right away (e.g. I asked for an electric kettle to make coffee/tea in the room, and they provided me with one right away). Breakfasts was very good and has something for everyone. I have found that breakfast in Norwegian hotels generally put to shame the breakfasts in North American hotels, and the Scandic Neptune's breakfast fully lived up to that tradition.

I recently stayed at the Scandic Neptun Hotel in Bergen, and I had a wonderful experience. The room was excellent, offering a stunning view of Bryggen, which made every morning special. The hotel is centrally located, making it incredibly convenient to explore all the major attractions in Bergen. The cleanliness of the hotel was impeccable, and the breakfast spread was diverse and delicious, catering to various tastes and preferences. The only minor issue was the noise from the radiators, which was noticeable at times. However, I must commend the hotel’s staff for their prompt and efficient resolution of the problem each day. Their professionalism truly enhanced my stay. Overall, I highly recommend the Scandic Neptun Hotel for anyone visiting Bergen. It combines great location, beautiful views, excellent cleanliness, and outstanding service.

We initially stayed at the Neptune for one night prior to going on a Hurtigruten Norwegian Coastal Express Voyage. We had a warm welcome on arrival and an excellent breakfast. We checked at the desk about our return booking this time for a three nights stay. On checking in for this booking again a warm welcome at the desk and we had been given an upgrade to a mini-suite on the 6th floor. Some work was still in place as this floor had only recently been refurbished but this was not a problem. The location of the hotel is excellent as a base for exploring Bergen and all the the restaurants around the Harbour are close by. The choice and quality of the food at breakfast was exceptional.

Great location , lovely breakfast which is included, lots of choices. They offered full breakfast and lots of healthy choices too. There were gluten free options and dairy free options too which was nice. They are going through renovations and I did ask ahead of time to be away from any work currently being done in other rooms , which they did accommodate. We were in room 705 , which was perfect for our needs. We had a nice view although the road can be a little noisy on a weekend night , if you’re a light sleeper . We were a few minutes walk from the harbour and also close to shops and restaurants. Would highly recommended taking the 31/2 hour tour of the fjords and the cruise ships were all within easy walking distance.

The facilities were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was fulfilling and varied. The best part was the location- perfect spot for exploring Bergen! And very convenient location for taking the tram to and from the airport.
